After I took my last final exam yesterday, I almost didn't know what to do with myself so I headed straight for my favorite website, Ravelry. I love to browse through the top 20 hot patterns, my pattern highlights that are generated by some crazy cool algorithms and the new patterns. In my highlights, I stumbled upon these adorable stranded mittens inspired by the movie Frozen.
Now, I know that opinions of Frozen are varied but I loved the movie and its soundtrack. I'm a kid at heart and I was raised on the renaissance of Disney Animation. While The Little Mermaid always has been and always will be my favorite movie, I think that Frozen belongs in the extensive lineup of Disney classics. By the way, I totally mean it when I say The Little Mermaid is my favorite movie ever, of all time, bar none.
Anyway, onto the adorable mittens (and free!) that are this week's favorite!
Mommy and Me Frozen Mittens by Kat Lewinski of Just Crafty Enough.
I love the snowflakes and flurry motifs in these mittens and I'm totally charmed by the idea of matching mom and daughter mittens. I've never finished a stranded knitting project and I have no kids so these probably won't be on my needles anytime soon but I still love this pattern. Maybe I'll have a daughter someday, maybe we'll be living in a cold climate, and maybe she'll love Frozen so much that I'll return to this pattern and make us a matching set. I'd like that.
